The Clinic of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Zurich has an integrated laboratory with infrastructure for research on hard tissues and materials including surface properties (Raman spectroscopy, integrated focus optical microscopy, gloss and colorimeter) specimen preparation, sectioning and polishing facilities, and mechanical testing equipment. In addition the manpower of the Clinic lists scientists with skills in RCT design and epidemiological background.

The Clinic has an output of 7 publications per staff annually, receiving over 1000 citations per year. The personnel of the Department is included in the reviewers’ lists of 50 journals and editorial board of 5 periodicals.
